Jon Smith Subs Expands Franchise Business to Australia

Date

Jul 31, 2018

Fast-casual brand Jon Smith Subs just announced its international expansion into the Land of Oz at a recent trade show in Sydney. Part of the established United Franchise Group (UFG), this franchise business is known for its marinated sirloin steak subs and also has other great items, including a marinated chicken sub, giant deli-style subs, salads, grill specialties, various sides and a kid's menu.

UFG CEO Ray Titus said that this is a great time for the sub brand to grow internationally. Titus said this expansion is a natural fit because UFG already has a large presence on the continent, with its corporate office located in Sydney. Like other brands under the UFG umbrella, Jon Smith Subs is expanding into many major markets in Australia, including Darwin, Hobart, Adelaide, Perth, Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney. The total investment for the Australian locations ranges from $350,000 to $500,000, and financing will be available to qualified applicants.

This franchise business has seen tremendous growth in the US and now has stores in California, Texas, Nevada, Ohio, Georgia and South and Central Florida. In addition to the Australian expansion, the sandwich chain also has Master License Partner agreements in place for Colombia, South Africa, Portugal and the United Kingdom, with other international locations also being targeted.

Brand President Scott Stuck says that the brand's franchise opportunity is attractive to entrepreneurs because of its successful track record. According to Stuck, Jon Smith Subs is known for its high-quality subs and award-winning French fries, with its sub platters a particular hit among customers who are looking to entertain.

Established in Florida in 1988, Jon Smith Subs has since grown across the US and is now expanding overseas. The total initial investment for this franchise opportunity ranges from $309,000 to $625,885.
