Dallas Fort Worth International Airport Welcomes First Post-Security 7-Eleven

Date

Nov 18, 2015

The Dallas Fort Worth International Airport recently marked the opening of its first 7-Eleven location post-security. On November 11, a ribbon cutting ceremony took place, and donations were made by the 7-Eleven community to Dallas Fort Worth United Service Organizations and Texas Christian University’s Reserve Officers' Training Corps in honor of Veterans Day.

A partnership between 7-Eleven and Paradies Lagardère Travel Retail, the new franchise business location can be found in the airport’s recently renovated Terminal A close to gate A25. 7-Eleven Project A Game, a charity that targets local schools with specific needs, donated $711 to the TCU’s ROTC, and Paradies Lagardère Travel Retail donated the same amount to the DFW USO.

According to DFW’s Executive Vice President of Revenue Management, Ken Buchanan, opening a 7-Eleven inside security at an airport in the U.S. makes DFW stand out in the airport crowd. Buchanan noted that the franchise business’s global brand recognition allows the airport to cater to international and domestic customers while giving those customers an opportunity to have a unique service experience. According to Buchanan, the airport is proud to have a Texas brand serve the more than 63 million passengers who pass through DFW each year.

The 1,320 square-foot location is designed to cater to airport employees and passengers, with a modern design that works with the new terminal’s look. 7-Eleven also created a value “snack pack” for travelers that is exclusive to this store.

Currently, Paradies Lagardère Travel Retail has 32 stores throughout the DFW airport, including locations for specialty retail and travel essentials. The company plans to open a second 7-Eleven location in the airport some time in 2016.
