Throughout the last five decades, beer has a been a cultural staple everywhere from sports events to the family backyard on the weekend. Domestic brews are still popular, but the rise in craft beer sales is seemingly connected to the younger generation that is now coming of age: the Millennials, who now account for over 50 percent of all craft beer drinkers under 35. Therefore, it is no surprise that Justin Blumetti, a Millennial entrepreneur, is taking this trend by the horns with his Beerhead franchise business locations.

The younger franchisee didn't start out planning to own a business. Blumetti still designs industrial materials and aircraft parts after studying mechanical engineering at Ohio University. However, he grew up in the bar industry, with his parents owning a wine and beer distribution company, and he was always keeping an eye out for new franchise opportunities. One that caught his attention was the Beerhead concept, and he became one of its first franchisees with a location in Cleveland in 2015.

According to Blumetti, his Millennial perspective proved to be an advantage because he understood the culture behind craft beer. However, his young age did mean he didn't have the experience his competitors did, so he had to grow up quickly once his location was up and running. Since he opened up a franchise business, he was able to consult with and lean on the Beerhead model for assistance. His first year was the toughest because he was new and so was his staff. However, two successful years later, he opened his second location and is now planning to open more in the future.

An open, casual setting that provides craft beer and perfect bites, Beerhead Bar and Eatery is currently offering franchise opportunities in several markets, including New York, Pennsylvania and Minnesota. The franchise fee is $40,000, and the initial investment ranges from $595,000 to $1,058,000.
