A fresh take on haircare for men and boys of all ages comes to Bangor
GEOREGETOWN, Texas (Jul. 9, 2015)
Sport Clips Haircuts, the nation’s leading men’s and boys’ haircare provider, will expand its footprint into Bangor, Maine on Friday, July 10, marking a significant milestone in the growth of the franchise… a presence in all 50 states.
“We celebrate each store opening, and we’ve reached a true milestone with this one – opening Sport Clips in our 50th U.S. state,” says Gordon Logan, founder and CEO of Sport Clips. “Our first store opened in Austin, Texas in 1993, so to see the emergence of Sport Clips in new states over the past twenty years has been both exciting and rewarding. We couldn’t have done it without Sport Clips’ skilled and dedicated team members, franchisees, and support team members.”
With close to 1,400 locations operating across the U.S. and Canada, and only five store closings since 2010, Sport Clips continues as a leading franchise business investment opportunity.
Sport Clips offers its clients:
- A fresh take on haircare services, featuring the “MVP Experience” that includes a precision haircut, massaging shampoo, hot steamed towel treatment, and neck and shoulder massage
- Stylists who specialize in haircare for men and boys and who stay up-to-date on the latest trends
- Large, flat-screen televisions playing sports programming at each haircut station and in the lobby, as well as reading materials like Sports Illustrated
- Affordable luxuries like massaging and heated shampoo chairs
- Haircut services without an appointment – walk-ins are welcome
Prior to becoming Maine’s first Sport Clips franchisee, Dennis Guerrette worked in corporate finance for IBM and Procter & Gamble, and later as a chief financial officer for three firms in Maine. He credits his brothers with giving him the “entrepreneurial bug”, which led him to pursue franchising. “In 2014, my three business partners and I were researching franchise concepts and considered Sport Clips because my brother and his son had such a great haircut experience at a location in Arizona – they were won over, and after trying it for myself, I was, too,” says Guerrette. “We feel strongly that ‘Mainers’ in Bangor will appreciate the MVP Experience and great value. We’re looking forward to introducing clients to all we have to offer!”
Guerrette holds 10 Sport Clips licenses for Maine and New Hampshire, and has plans to open additional locations in Portland, Biddeford, Augusta-Waterville, and Topsham-Brunswick, and in other communities across the states.
Sport Clips in Bangor is located on 569 Stillwater Ave. and will be open Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information about Sport Clips, visit www.sportclips.com.
