PuroClean Awards Veteran Free Franchise Business

Date

Nov 28, 2018

Leading remediation and restoration franchise PuroClean just announced the winner of its inaugural PuroVet free franchise contest. Grant Springer of Washington, DC, who was with the US Army for 26 years, received his free franchise during a surprise presentation earlier in the month. The footage of the presentation is being shown on the Military Makeover: Operation Career series on the Lifetime Network.

Springer said he first learned about franchises when he was studying entrepreneurship at Georgetown University, and he also discovered that some franchise business companies like PuroClean are helping veterans find their next career.

The inaugural PuroVet contest was open to all veterans, including retired, honorably discharged, reserve and active duty service members. Each veteran applying had to submit a business plan that detailed how they would run their franchise and their resume. Brand executives then reviewed submissions and evaluated them on business acumen, preparedness and more. The top candidates had a phone interview with brand COO and President Steve White, who is on the VetFran Committee with the International Franchise Association and is also a US Army vet.

Springer went to the company's headquarters in Florida for what he was told was a final interview. However, he was instead surprised by a reception that honored him as the winner of the free franchise opportunity. The brand's home office team, including the president and CEO Mark Davis, attended the event alongside Michael Udine, the commissioner of Broward County.

Next year, Springer will attend the three-week training session for new franchisees at the brand's newly renovated training facility. He will then move to Kansas City to open his new location, which he will run with his family.

PuroClean has been recognized as a top franchise opportunity for veterans thanks to its PuroVet program, which gives veterans of the Armed Forces who qualify a $12,500 discount off of their first franchise fee. This brand is currently offering veterans and others franchise opportunities in many markets, including New Jersey and Virginia. The total initial investment ranges from $71,190 to $99,305 with financing of the required package and $141,440 to $166,415 with purchase of the package.
