Kids 'R' Kids Franchise Business Holds 1st Foster Day

Date

Jul 15, 2016

The Fort Mill, South Carolina, Kids 'R' Kids Learning Academy hosted its first-ever Foster Care Day on Saturday, July 16th, to honor the foster families in the local community. This event was opened to the public and free, with a bounce house, games and refreshments from local vendors. The South Carolina Department of Social Services was also on hand to answer questions about foster care. The event was held in the parking lot of the Fort Mill franchise business location at 3009 Highway 160 West.

Jennifer Miles, the Fort Mill franchisee, is invited everyone to the event to celebrate and learn more about foster families. Miles and her husband have been foster parents for five years, so this topic is close to her heart and she's thrilled to be able to show foster families appreciation.

As owners of the Fort Mill early education franchise, Miles and her husband Charles recently earned the Community Outreach Award at the annual Kids 'R' Kids Learning Academy owner's conference. Along with the recognition, the husband-and-wife team also received $5,000 from the franchiser to continue their outreach efforts. The Miles are going to use the fund to celebrate the families at the foster event and will donate the rest to abused children and women advocates.
