Dippin’ Dots Franchise Business Opens Cryogenics Arm

Dippin' Dots, the leading flash-frozen ice cream brand, has just announced the launch of a new venture, Dippin' Dots Cryogenics, L.L.C. With more than 30 years of experience with this technology and the company's intellectual property in cryogenics machinery and processes, this new venture will make the brand's patented equipment and technology accessible to other industries where cryogenics come into play, such as the animal feed, aquaculture, pharmaceutical and nutraceutical sectors.

The team at the brand's newest venture can customize machinery based on need by working with their exclusive equipment manufacturer. Available sizes run from a pilot plant size on the small scale to a high-capacity output that can produce 2,000 kg each hour. Specifications, such as steam cleaning and control systems, are customized to the client. Made in the US, the available equipment leaves a smaller footprint despite its high yield, with a clean-in-place process.

Brand Chief Development Officer Stan Jones said the high-volume capacity and small footprint are what make their newest company's processor stand out from the crowd. Jones added that the company realized its capabilities outside of what the equipment and processes are currently used for, and that they look forward to sharing these innovations with other industries.

This beaded ice cream brand's cryogenics process employs liquid nitrogen for flash-freezing products that have to meet high standards. The process is an applicable first step for any item that has to be freeze-dried, and industries that create plant extractions, bacterial cultures and probiotics are just some areas that could use it. With a small surface area, the pellets create an ideal end result for freeze-drying yet maintaining media culture integrity.

According to brand CEO Scott Fischer, this move was a logical step for the franchise business company. He said the new cryogenics venture will increase the brand's global footprint and portfolio while helping to improve products in other industries.

Established in 1988, frozen treat brand Dippin' Dots currently distributes its products across the entire US and 11 other countries. This brand has franchise opportunities available in several markets right now. The franchise fee for one of these franchise opportunities is $15,000, and the initial investment ranges from $112,204 to $366,950.
