United Franchise Group Honored with 2011 Governor’s Business Diversification Award

West Palm Beach, FL – The United Franchise Group (UFG), a $500 million West Palm Beach franchise organization, announced today it has been honored with the 2011 Governor’s Business Diversification Award. The company was honored during a special reception held in Tallahassee today at the Florida Governor’s Mansion.

The award, which is coordinated by Enterprise Florida, recognizes outstanding contributions made towards improving and diversifying Florida’s economy plus distinctive community investment efforts, particularly relating to industries targeted for economic development and high wage job growth.

“It gives us pride and pleasure to honor these companies for their success in job creation and enhancing Florida’s business climate,” said Gray Swoope, Enterprise Florida’s president & CEO. “We’re working tirelessly to move Florida’s economy further uphill, so, these contributions from our businesses and economic development partners are highly welcome, encouraged and appreciated.”

UFG is made up of five industry-leading franchise brands including SIGNARAMA, the world’s largest full-service sign business; EmbroidMe, the world’s largest embroidery franchise; Billboard Connection, a home-based advertising agency; Plan Ahead Events, a home-based event planning business; and TransWorld Business Advisors, a business brokerage and franchise development services firm. In 2010, UFG developed nearly 200 new franchises and projects its growth trend to continue in 2011 with a goal of adding up to 300 new franchise locations around the world.

The Governor’s Business Diversification Awards, now in its 28th installment, selected from a pool of 107 organizations, 18 winners in six categories. United Franchise Group won in the Export Excellence category, which highlights companies with significant increase in documented export sales in 2010.
