The unique drive-through chain Checkers & Rally's is heading toward 70 openings for 2018 and will also hit its 900th location late this summer. The value-driven brand, known for its tasty food, is building on its record-setting 2017, which saw the signing of 44 new franchisees and the opening of 50 new stores. With 128 approved sites on deck, this brand has certainly set the pace to reach its goal of 1,200 locations by the year 2020.
Some of this growth can be attributed to its new and innovative modular design, the brand's Model 4.0. Under this design, the units are built off-site in a controlled area and then delivered to their locations to be set on a pre-constructed foundation. People who decide to take one of this brand's franchise opportunities with the new design are able to save time on permits, development costs and other delays and expenses. Currently, this brand has ten franchise business locations with the new design open, with another 20 projected for this year.
Jennifer Durham, the brand's Chief Development Officer, said the new design is successful because of the simplicity and value it provides to franchisees. According to Durham, those who have opted for the new design are thrilled with the results and the return on investment. Model 4.0 also allows franchisees to develop faster on lots that would have not worked for restaurants otherwise because of their small size.
Based in Tampa, Florida, Checkers & Rally's is a well-known brand that has more than 870 locations and is still looking to grow.
