Zaxby’s Franchise Business Announces Benefit Weekend
Fried chicken and wing franchise business brand Zaxby’s recently announced a benefit weekend at all of its Charleston, South Carolina locations in support of Coastal Crisis Chaplaincy, a nonprofit that provides crisis care to emergency situation survivors and first responders. The franchise, which is known for its wings, chicken fingers and salads, is going to donate 20 percent of the total sales from all 12 of its restaurants in the Charleston area on August 3 and 4 to Coastal Crisis Chaplaincy.
Charleston brand licensee Tripp Clayton said that the fast food brand is all about giving back and that they are proud to partner with the nonprofit.
Coastal Crisis Chaplaincy is a team of volunteers and chaplains who provide crisis care to the community and first responders. This organization promotes resiliency, reconciliation and unity, and they offer psychological first aid, spiritual support and spiritual care. The nonprofit started out with one chaplain but now has two full-time chaplains, more than 60 volunteer chaplains, and a care team for survivors that offers services 24 hours a day, all seven days of the week in the counties of Dorchester, Berkeley and Charleston, South Carolina.
One of Zaxby’s missions is to create excellent experiences, and its corporate values are to focus on its guests, develop employee talents, constantly improve, and follow the standards set for operational excellence. Part of this mission includes engaging with the communities the brand serves, and the Charleston benefit weekend for Coastal Crisis Chaplaincy is a demonstration of that engagement.
According to the nonprofit's executive director and senior chaplain Rich Robinson, the organization's chaplains are there on the scenes of tragedies, and the fast food franchise has been there for the community's first responders by feeding emergency medical service professionals, fire department personnel and police officers and by donating to the Coastal Crisis Chaplaincy so they can continue with their mission.
The brand is also holding a wing eating contest at its location on Tanger Outlet Boulevard in North Charleston to see who can eat the most of its Tongue Torch wings in a span of five minutes. Local fire and police department representatives are participating, and the public is encouraged to attend.
Started in 1990 by two childhood friends to celebrate food in a fun atmosphere, Zaxby’s has since grown to over 900 locations across 17 states and is currently offering franchise opportunities in markets such as Florida, Ohio and Oklahoma. The initial investment for one of this brand's franchise opportunities ranges from $369,800 to $744,200.
