Neighborly Makes Franchise Business Brand History

The biggest home service franchise brand company in the world hit a new milestone in 2018. Back in June, the company announced the sale of Neighborly by equity firm The Riverside Company to Harvest Partners, LP, a new private equity partner. The home service franchiser also acquired two new brands, Mosquito Joe and Real Property management, bringing the number of brands under its banner to 20. 2018 saw system-wide sales reach $2 billion, and the company grew to almost 3,600 franchise business owners over nine countries and sold 325 new units across all brands.

Brand President and CEO Mike Bidwell said the company changed its name from the Dwyer Group after close to four decades, which reflects its evolution and growth, notched three major acquisitions and entered into a new growth phase. Bidwell also thanked the corporate team and the company's franchisees for the tremendous success.

Other bright spots during 2018 for this expanding company include a new initiative to honor a veteran with free home repair services, an updated website that acts as a "one-stop shop" for customers' home service needs, and inclusion in many industry-recognized rankings, such as the Franchise 500 from Entrepreneur Magazine, the Best for Vets list from Military Tines, and the Top Franchise Opportunities ranking by Franchise Business Review.
