FASTSIGNS Franchise Recognized as Top Opportunity for Veterans

Global communication center franchiser FASTSIGNS International, Inc. has just earned a spot on Franchise Business Review’s "Top 100 Franchises for Veterans" list for the fifth year in a row. FBR’s veterans’ franchise list is the only one that is entirely based on survey data from veterans who own those franchise businesses.

FBR compiles the list using information from surveys about performance and satisfaction that are given to existing veteran franchisees. For 2015, the report collected data from around 3,047 veteran franchisees, representing a total of 285 brands. The survey included 33 questions that ranked franchisers in multiple areas, such as training and support, operations and product development, financial opportunity, leadership, the franchisee community, core values and general level of satisfaction. Other questions touched on demographics, market area, business lifestyle and other topics.

FASTSIGNS CEO Catherine Monson spoke about the franchise opportunity’s veteran program, which she noted was the company’s way of thanking veterans for their service. According to Monson, FASTSIGNS offers the most comprehensive financial incentives and support to veterans available in the visual graphics and signage industry.

Qualified FASTSIGNS veteran franchisees receive a 50 percent discount on the franchise fee and peer-to-peer support through the brand’s mentorship program. Monson also noted that more than 10 percent of the FASTSIGNS’ U.S. network is currently veterans, and the company hopes that figure will increase.

FASTSIGNS has received recognition for its veteran programs from Military Times, USA Today and G.I. Jobs, all of which included the franchise opportunity as a top franchise for veterans in various lists and features. The franchiser is also a part of the International Franchise Association’s VetFran program, which is aimed at helping veterans locate business opportunities. Qualified veterans who join FASTSIGNS receive reduced royalties for the first year and a discounted franchise fee of $22,250. FASTSIGNS is also the only franchiser in its industry that offers a non-stipulated 50 percent discount on its franchise fees to veterans.

Franchise Business Review COO and President Michelle Rowan also praised FASTSIGNS, saying it is one of just a few franchise businesses that are in its Hall of Fame. Franchises enter the Hall of Fame by being featured on FBR’s “Best of the Best Top Franchises” list for ten years in a row.

Franchisers have to participate in FBR’s benchmark franchisee satisfaction survey to be included in any of its lists. Recently, FASTSIGNS was reviewed by 44 percent of its current franchise system and received a 4.2 out of 5 rating, landing it at number 14 in FBR’s Top 50 list, number 10 in its franchise systems list, and number two in business services.
