Eddie Diaz of Dream Vacations

Dream Vacations is a low-cost, home-based franchise that is ideal for entrepreneurs who are passionate about travel. Here is a Q&A with Dream Vacations Franchise Owner Eddie Diaz, whose franchise specializes in destination events, group travel and meetings at sea.

Name: Eddie Diaz, CSEP, ACC

Business Location: Orlando, Fla.

How long have you been a Dream Vacations owner?

Two years

How many people work at your franchise?

I have two associates who are focused on group travel and special events.

Why did you join Dream Vacations?

I also own a 20-year-old corporate event planning firm. As a certified event planner, I travel extensively with clients so having a travel agency as a secondary business made sense. Both businesses work hand in hand and complement each other. I joined Dream Vacations to create a long-term investment strategy and business model that wasn’t complicated. Dream Vacations provided all the necessary tools to launch, manage, and deliver a complete business package. After reviewing many other franchise models, Dream Vacations bubbled to the top of my short list — their support, engagement and commitment is outstanding.

Why did you decide to go into franchising?

I decided to go into franchising because I was seeking a turnkey business model. I didn’t want to start from scratch. I wanted to hit the ground running. Franchise models offer start-up processes, tools, back office, lead opportunities, marketing components and so much more for one price. Dream Vacations provides confidence, peace of mind, a committed team, innovative software, stellar support and simply a group of like-minded individuals all working toward the same goals. Their support, engagement and commitment are outstanding.

What is the best thing about franchising?

The best thing about franchising is the opportunity to acquire a tested business model. It removes the trial and error and multitude of expenses often experienced when starting a new business. Franchising removes the hassle and worry; it sets you up to start working on your business right away.

What is the best thing about being a travel agent?

The best thing about being a travel agent is well…travel. Let’s be honest, we all want to see the world and experience new things. To know you are in the business of providing others with unique experiences is fulfilling and rewarding. It is always a thrill when I help clients experience a new part of the world. We are more than travel agents, we are World Ambassadors.

What is your advice for others interested in franchising?

Not all franchises are made the same. Do your homework, ask questions, and ask again. Make sure it is the right investment for you. Reputable and solid franchises will take time to share, explain and guide prospects. Dream Vacations has proven that over and over again. I am very happy with my decision to join Dream Vacations and am honored to be part of such a successful business.

What is on your bucket list?

Antarctica, Australia and one day a world cruise.

What is the most exotic place you have visited?

Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, India, Kathmandu and Tibet.

Dream Vacations is part of World Travel Holdings, the world’s largest cruise agency and award-winning leisure travel company. As an experiential brand, Dream Vacations is the only travel franchise opportunity to have a name that speaks to the variety of vacation experiences its franchisees sell.
