Dunkin' Donuts Serves Up A New Franchise Business

A ribbon-cutting ceremony was recently held to mark the opening of the first Dunkin' Donuts franchise business inside a BJ’s Wholesale Club in South Quincy, Massachusetts. The ceremony was attended by BJ's Wholesale Club CEO and President Chris Baldwin, Dunkin' Brands CEO and Chairman Nigel Travis, and the new location's franchisees, Octavio and Victor Carvalho. 

Important members of the local community were also on hand to mark the occasion, including Maureen Rogers, President of the Quincy Chamber of Commerce; Susan Harrington, Director of Development and Marketing of the Quincy Community Action Program; and Quincy Mayor Tom Koch. The Quincy Community Action Programs Food Center received a $3,000 check from Dunkin' and BJ's Wholesale Club franchisees during the celebration to support their mission of service to the Quincy community.

September 17th marked the grand opening day, which was a community-wide appreciation event for customers. Free donuts were given away for two hours in the afternoon, and there were games and other giveaways. This event was attended by the street team from local station Kiss 108 and Cuppy, the donut chain's mascot.

Dunkin' Donuts is a worldwide leader in the coffee and baked goods market, with more than 10,000 stores worldwide. The franchise fee and initial investment vary by format and location, with an estimated initial investment ranging anywhere from $228,621 to $1,692,314.
