Dickey’s Barbecue Pit Franchise Business Expanding

Dickey’s Barbecue Pit is bringing its Texas-style barbecue to South America via its first expansion deal for the continent. The franchise, which is the biggest barbecue franchise brand globally, just signed with Cyro Pires and Bruno Gallucci, two business partners who are ready to develop more than 100 franchise business locations for the brand across Brazil.

Dickey’s Capital Group CEO Roland Dickey, Jr., said that when his family first started the business more than 70 years ago, the goal was to serve the community with outstanding barbecue, and the company is honored to continue that mission on a global scale. According to Dickey, Gallucci and Pires shared a passion for barbecue and their local communities, so the brand is looking forward to this new partnership.

The new partners have diverse entrepreneurial backgrounds and bring more than 10 years of experience in restaurant operations and agriculture production to the joint venture.

The Vice President of International Development for the brand, Jim Perkins, added that the new partners have a high level of business acumen, enthusiasm and experience with the barbecue culture in Brazil.

Pires and Gallucci received the full franchising rights in Brazil and will open their first location in Sao Paolo, their hometown, in the early part of 2020.

Founded in 1941, Dickey's Barbecue Pit is known for its slow-cooked meats, which are made at each location, and its home-style sides. This fast-casual concept now has more than 550 locations across 45 states, and there are still franchise opportunities open in many markets. The total investment for one of these franchise opportunities ranges from $280,819 and $481,819, which includes a franchise fee that ranges from $15,000 to $20,000.
