Checkers' New Franchise Business Food Delivery Platform

Checkers & Rally Restaurants just announced a new delivery system that is believed to be the most franchisee-friendly and comprehensive in the Quick Service Resturant (QSR) sector. The new platform features five nationwide delivery services - Amazon Restaurants, Grubhub, Postmates, Door Dash and Uber Eats - together in a single point-of-sale (POS) system and was created in collaboration with delivery and ordering platform provider Olo. The Olo integrations will allow the brand's customers to order food from their preferred delivery services while giving franchisees an operationally simple and profitable way to fill those orders.

Brand President and CEO Rick Silva said that while some large QSR brands have gone with one delivery service, the company wanted to give its guests multiple ways to get its famous fries, burgers and flavors to their doors. At the same time, the burger brand wanted franchisees to have access to an all-in-one platform so fulfilling delivery orders would be both simple and profitable.

With other delivery services, restaurants have to have a new order-receiving device for each third-party delivery service they use. However, the burger franchise business developed a unique system where orders from all of those delivery services feed into a single POS system and right into the kitchens of their locations. The new platform doesn't require cashiers to re-key orders for delivery like other systems do. Instead, orders for delivery are directly integrated into the location's POS system. This reduces time, user error and labor, making it the most efficient and comprehensive QSR platform to date.

The famous burger brand decided to team up with Grubhub, Postmates, DoorDash and Uber Eats because of their experience in the food delivery space. It is also the among the first QSR brands to be a partner of Amazon Restaurants.

Instead of leaving the management and coordination of third-party delivery services across multiple providers to franchisees, this burger and fries brand has centralized the business model so franchises have a sole point of contact for all their delivery services. The innovative approach simplifies the process for franchisees and ensures that delivery orders are as easy to handle and profitable as drive-through ones.
