Burger 21 Franchise Opens in Texas and North Carolina

The "beyond the better burger" fast-casual brand Burger 21 recently announced its first location in Texas and its third in North Carolina. Its Texas store will be in North Frisco, while the new North Carolina location is in North Raleigh. The chef-inspired brand is known for its varied offerings, which include veggie, turkey, fresh-ground Certified Angus Beef and even some seafood burgers.

Part of the Towers at Frisco Square, the first Texas franchise location is naturally attracting some fanfare. The ribbon-cutting ceremony, was held on January 8, 2016, and was attended by some members of the Frisco Chamber of Commerce and local residents. Two random guests will receive free Cheesy Burgers each day for an entire year, starting the week of January 11th, with entry details available to visitors during opening week. Guests during opening week will also receive free valet parking.

The North Frisco Burger 21 is donating 10 percent of its total sales on January 11th and 12th to the City of Frisco Police Officer's Association. Another 10 percent of total sales on January 21st and 22nd will go to the Frisco Firefighters Association.

Franchisee husband-and-wife team Parisa and Wade Googe are the owners of the North Frisco Burger 21. The couple plans to open two more franchise stores in the suburban Dallas area in 2016, and they are currently considering the development of two more locations in McKinney and The Colony, Texas.

Burger 21 in North Frisco is a 2,800 square-foot location with seating for an estimated 75 customers inside and patio seating for around 25 customers outside.

Franchisees Keith Smith and Mitch Neal are the owners of the new North Carolina store, which they plan to open some time during the spring of 2016. In June of 2015, the same franchisees opened their first Burger 21 location in North Carolina in the town of Cary. According to Neal, the brand has been fully embraced by the local community, and the entrepreneurs are looking forward to opening their second location in North Ridge.

The Burger 21 franchise business is currently looking for franchisees in several U.S. markets, including Texas and North Carolina. Considered to be a top franchise opportunity, Burger 21 has received many industry accolades, including being on Fast Casual’s "Movers and Shakers" list for the last three years and being named a "Best Franchise Deal" by QSR in 2014.

A qualified Burger 21 franchisee will have a net worth of at least $600,000 and minimum liquid assets of $250,000 for each unit. The brand is looking for both single and multi-unit owners, and the total investment per store ranges from $428,247 to $1,085,164. While the initial franchise fee is $40,000, qualified veterans, minorities and those developing at least four stores may receive a reduced fee.
